PulseLock ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your choices. Please read it carefully.
By using PulseLock, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Health and Fitness Data (HealthKit). With your explicit permission, PulseLock reads health-related data from Apple Health, which may include heart rate, resting heart rate, workout activity, and step count. This data is used solely to operate the app's core features (for example, verifying exercise to earn screen time, calculating your heart rate zones, and tracking your earned minutes and history). This data is processed on your device. We do not upload your health data to our servers, sell it, or use it for advertising.
Screen Time / Family Controls Data. PulseLock uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls and Managed Settings) frameworks to let you select apps and categories to lock, and to apply and remove restrictions. By Apple's design, the specific apps you select are represented by privacy-preserving tokens that are not visible to us and are handled on your device. We do not collect or transmit the list of apps you choose to restrict.
Settings and Preferences. Your in-app settings (such as your daily goal, heart rate profile, schedules, optional display name, and earning preferences) are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, these settings may sync across your own Apple devices using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. This sync is handled by Apple under your iCloud account; we do not have access to it.
Purchase and Subscription Data. When you subscribe, your purchase is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat, a subscription management provider, to verify and manage subscription status. RevenueCat processes limited information such as a randomly generated app user identifier and your subscription/transaction status. This is used to determine whether you have an active subscription. We do not receive your payment details (such as card numbers); those are handled solely by Apple. For more information, see RevenueCat's privacy policy.
We use the information described above only to: - Provide and operate the app's features (earning time through activity, locking and unlocking apps, tracking progress and history). - Calculate your personalized heart rate zones and goals. - Determine and maintain your subscription status. - Sync your own settings across your devices (via Apple iCloud, if enabled).
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling for third parties, or cross-app/website tracking.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your health data with third parties. Limited purchase-related data is processed by our service providers (Apple and RevenueCat) solely to provide subscription functionality. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Health data and most app data are stored on your device and remain under your control. You can revoke the app's access to Apple Health at any time in the iOS Settings app (Privacy & Security → Health). You can delete app data by deleting the app. Settings synced via iCloud are controlled through your iCloud account settings. PulseLock is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us.
We rely on Apple's on-device security and platform protections. Because most data stays on your device and we do not operate accounts or store your health data on our servers, the surface for data exposure is minimized. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
